Pace programmed aerobic anaerobic accommodating circuit exercise
As we age, muscles shorten and range of motion about a joint may be affected.
A joint that has an abnormal range of motion is likely to contribute to an injury.
The aerobic system also plays a crucial role in assisting with recovery in between anaerobic exertion.
It is important to note that none of these pathways work in isolation.
It is the ability to sustain a series of muscle contractions (and/or postures) for a long period of time.
Since this type of training places a heavy demand on the neuromuscular system, periodical unloading (sessions of reduced intensity and volume) are required to ensure proper recovery.
